Wedding & Party Planning

Welcome to my blog celebrating all the things I love. I will be writing about the things that inspire me, discussing fashion and style tips, taking you from the runway to real life. With party planning tips for all occasions. Keeping you in the know with the latest trends in food, décor and lifestyle. And, time and again about the balance of being running a successful business and being a great Mom to my two boys who are 12 and 6. I’m excited to begin this blogging journey and hope to hear your feedback to learn about things you want to see.

Cheers to Love!

The wedding reception is the perfect time for couples to show off their individuality and creativity. In the craze of planning a reception full of delicious food, beautiful décor and unforgettable memories, it can be easy to overlook one vital aspect of the menu: the drinks. The attention to detail is often forgotten when it comes to the presentation and selection of signature cocktails.

First impressions are everything, especially when walking into a wedding reception. Typically, the first thing guests will see is a waiter with a silver tray of beverages that you have chosen for your cocktail hour. Instead of choosing any old drink, choose something that reflects your personality, style, and wedding theme. Having an innovative and distinct drink paired with an appetizer for your guests will not only set the tone for the meal they are about to have, but the energy your reception will give off.

If you’re worried about making your drink menu distinct and enjoyable for guests, think about creating your own name for your specialty drink to put a personal twist on it.  This can be done by combining anything from your favorite hobbies, to where you first met to get this unique flare for your wedding reception. Some couples also choose separate specialty drinks for the men and women attending the reception. Men may choose some variation of a whiskey, while women tend to prefer some type of vodka drink. Regardless, adding any kind of personal touch to the specialty drinks during cocktail hour will add to the intimate and distinct nature of your wedding reception.

Some of my favorite pairings include...

Blueberry Mojito Royale paired with Cajun Shrimp Guacamole Bites

Blackberry Thyme Sparkler paired with Onion Tomato Bruschetta with Balsamic Glaze

White Strawberry-Lemon Sangria paired with Macaroni Cheese Bites
