Wedding & Party Planning

Welcome to my blog celebrating all the things I love. I will be writing about the things that inspire me, discussing fashion and style tips, taking you from the runway to real life. With party planning tips for all occasions. Keeping you in the know with the latest trends in food, décor and lifestyle. And, time and again about the balance of being running a successful business and being a great Mom to my two boys who are 12 and 6. I’m excited to begin this blogging journey and hope to hear your feedback to learn about things you want to see.

5 Tips for Picking Out Your Dream Gown

  1. Try on everything, even if you think you won’t like it. Most brides tend to have some idea of what they want their wedding dress to look like, which is great. However, this should never stop you from trying on a dress that you think looks interesting or different from what you imagined you would wear. You never know how it will look, or more importantly how you will feel, once you actually give it a chance and try it on! Who knows, it could be the one.
  2. Get what you want, not what everyone else wants. It’s easy to get swept away in dress shopping and the opinions of friends and family that may come with you.  The most important thing about picking out a wedding dress is that you pick out something that you want, because it’s your wedding. As long as your love your dress and feel comfortable and beautiful, that is truly all that matters.
  3. Breathe. This is supposed to be the most amazing time in your life—so let it be! Although it can be stressful picking out a gown, remember that this process is whatever you make it. So make it fun and lighthearted! You will try on dozens of dresses until you find the one you want, so don’t get discouraged—just think that every dress you try on that you don’t like, just gets you one step closer to finding the one that you love!
  4. Drink water and eat before you come. Everyone wants to look their best trying on potential wedding dresses, and sometimes this means only having a small snack before arriving at the bridal store. If you want to feel your best, please stay hydrated and eat a normal lunch or breakfast before arriving. The last thing you want to happen is to get “hangry” (hungry+angry) while trying dresses on, to put you in a bad mood with little energy. Trying on dresses can take longer than you think, so fuel your body to be ready!
  5. Laugh. Not every dress, or every day looking for a dress is going to be pleasant. The most important thing is to stay positive because it only takes one dress to change everything. Until that dress comes along, laugh and enjoy the process. You will find something you love, trust me. It is just a matter of time.
